Many of the shops and restaurants from Sloane Street through Sloane Square and along the Kings Road were recently ablaze with colourful flowers, echoing the nearby Chelsea Flower Show and putting us all in a summery mood. Chelsea in Bloom excelled this year with its floral displays inspired by the theme ‘Under The Sea’. The competition is a collaboration between Cadogan with the charity Plastic Oceans UK and The Royal Horticultural Society.
These were some of our favourite displays.
HOW TO USE FLORALS… The huge range of florals and foliage in both fabrics and wallpapers available from Thibaut Design show how we can embrace florals in our home, in a variety of ways, big and blowsy or more subdued to create a sophisticated scheme.
GO EASY ON THE FLORALS… If you don’t want a complete floral makeover, just add some accessories such as these from Designers Guild and Style Library.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS… If you prefer to keep your florals outside, here are some suggestions for summer living.
HONE YOUR OWN FLORAL SKILLS… we love the loose natural floral arrangements created by Aesme an artisanal flower studio in West London, specialising in seasonal, garden-inspired floral design and teaching flower arranging classes throughout the year.
